The easiest way to program your Comcast remote to your TV or other electronic devices is by using the auto-programming method. Sometimes this can be a tedious process and requires some patience, but most of the time it works just fine and has you up and running in no time. But what was the code that worked? This tutorial will teach you how to find the Comcast remote code that was discovered during the auto-program method.
Once you have your remote programmed to your TV, DVD, or other device it’s a good idea to learn what that code was so you can write it down for future reference. This is especially useful if it took forever for the remote to find the code to begin with. What if you get a new remote, or what if some how the programming gets screwed up? That would mean having to sit there and press the CH+ button over and over again until it found the correct code. Or you can follow these simple steps and avoid having to do that again.
Turn on your TV
Press the TV button once. Then hold and press “Setup” until the red light blinks twice.
Enter the code 9-9-0. The red light should blink twice again.
Press the number 1. Wait about 3 seconds and then count the number of times the red light flashes. This is the first digit of your code. Write it down.
Press the number 2. Wait about 3 seconds and then count the number of times the red light flashes. This is the second digit of your code. Write it down.
Continue like this until you have all four or all five digits.
If you would like to learn the code for another device such as an AUX device, then press the AUX button during Step #1 instead of the TV button.
