How To Program the Silver Comcast Remote
I recently wrote a tutorial on how to program the Comcast remote that comes with the little black box that was required after Comcast upgraded their system. If that is the remote you need to program you can find the instructions for that remote here
This is the Comcast remote that typically comes with your Comcast box.
This remote can be used to remote control your TV as well as your cable box. It can also be programmed for one other device for a total of three. It is designed to serve as a universal remote so that you only need one. There are two methods to program the remote. The first is to automatically search for the correct code and the second is to manually program the remote using manufacturer’s codes. Both methods are explained below.
Auto Program Method
Turn on your TV.
On the silver remote, press the TV button once. This button is located at the very top of the remote.
Then press and hold the “Setup” button until the “TV” button flashes twice. Then release the “Setup” button.
Enter the following digits: 991. You should see the TV button flash twice.
If you are searching for a DVD or VCR code enter the digits 992 and you should see the Aux button flash twice.
Press the “Power” button once. Then aim the remote and the TV and start pressing the “CH +” button at a medium pace until the TV turns off. (Don’t press it too fast!!!) There have been times when I was in a hurry and was pressing the key too fast. What happened is that I couldn’t react in time when the TV turned off and actually hit the key a couple more times. This ended up giving me the wrong code and I had to start all over again. So, I know it seems to take a while sometimes, but it’s better to go at a medium pace so that you get it right the first time!
Once the TV turns off, press the “Setup” button once to lock in the code. You should see the “TV” button flash twice.
Manual Program Method
Turn your TV or device on.
On the Comcast remote, press the “TV” key once. If you are trying to program a DVD player or other device press the “Aux” key instead.
Press and hold the “Setup” key until the “TV” key (or Aux key) blinks twice and then release the “Setup” key.
Find the codes for your TV. They are listed on the back of the instructions that came with your remote. If you don’t have this list, I have posted it here on this site:
Once you have found the code(s) for your device write them down for the next step.
If there is more than one code listed start with the first one and enter the 5-digit code. If you do this step correctly you will see the “TV” key blink twice. If you do this step incorrectly you will see the “TV” key display one long blink. If this happens you will have to start over from Step 2.
Aim the remote control and your TV and press the “Power” button once. If this is the correct code, your TV will shut off. If it doesn’t then repeat steps 2 thru 6 using the next code in line.

Your silver Comcast remote should now be able to control the power, volume and channels on your TV and you can hide the remote that came with your TV. One thing to keep in mind, is that when you hit the “All On” button you have to leave the remote aimed at the TV and cable box for a few seconds in order for it to turn off each device. You will see each device button light up as the remote turns this device on or off. For example, when you hit the “All On” button you should see the TV button light up and then the TV turn on, then you will see the Cable button light up and then the cable box turn on and so forth. I hope that you have found this information useful. If so, please feel free to leave comments.
If you found this tutorial useful please give it a +1 and share it with your friends!
I have the new remote control. It will turn my TV off, change the volume, and channels but it will not turn the TV on. What do I need to do to get it to turn the TV on. I would like to put away the old remote and just rely on a single remote. Thanks, Paula
Hey Paula,
Yeah, the programming can get kind of funky at times. I’ve ran into this problem before and the solution is usually to manually program the remote. If you’ll let me know what brand and model of TV you have I’ll help you track down the proper code for it.
Comcast remote died and replaced. Can turn cable on and change channels. Must use TV remote for everything else. The previous identical remote did all, but could not turn tv on. The list of Comcast codes does not show my tv.
NIKO (one K is correct) OTP-3211W LCD.
Can you help me? Thank you
Have you tried using the 9-9-1 auto-programming method?
Do you know how to program these remotes to control the comcast DTA box? I got a free box from my uncle, but he lost the remote. My sister gave me her spare silver remote to control the little black box, but it does not work. Thanks.
Hey Ryan,
Try using the following code, 01982. I would recommend programming it to the AUX button.
Let me know if you run into any problems.
I have tried the codes for a RCA TV and I have tried the 991 method nothing works.
Hi Judy,
If you’ll send me the model number of your TV I’ll be happy to help you track down the proper code.
Do you happen to know the code so I can program one of the silver remotes to operate one of the little black boxes. I have tons of silver remotes, but cannot find my little black remote anywhere. Thanks.
Hey Gina,
The standard silver remote that we are all so familiar with will not control the DTA, but the newer “platinum” remotes will.
I use the AUX button to turn my Pioneer receiver on and off. I use an HDMI cable to get HDTV and audio to my receiver and the converter box vol-up and vol-down does not actually control the volume … instead, I must control the volume using my receiver. This may be petty, but it’s a hassle to press the AUX button to control the volume then press CABLE to put the silver remote back in a state to control the comcast box. There used to be a way to “unlock” the volume button and re-program it so that when the remote control is in CABLE mode, the volume botton actually controls another device (not the converter box). I’d like the volume button to control my receiver (Pioneer) when the remote is in CABLE mode. IS THIS POSSIBLE?
I found the answer at:
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/How_to_use_a_Motorola_DVR/Programming_the_Remote#Volume_Lock
Great info John, thanks for posting the link!!
this worked! thank you!
You’re welcome!!
Greetings! I have gleaned plenty of info for my remote from your site, and must express my gratitude for your efforts and time.
I do have one issue I have been unable to resolve as of yet. The silver remote currently runs my DVD player and TV (both JVC, and the cable, of course. When I’m in cable mode and use the volume key, the TV unfortunately displays the volume bar much longer that I would like. I try using the “Exit” button to make the volume bar go away, but the remote is in cable mode and does not respond to my bidding. If I want to make it go away, it’s either grab the original TV remote or switch the silver remote to TV mode, but by then the volume bar has usually gone away on its own. I’m wondering if it’s possible to tie the exit button to the TV while still controlling the cable box. Unfortunately, the TV itself has no settings to adjust the volume bar time or display.
Any suggestions? I would really appreciate any fixes you could suggest.
I’m not sure if it’s possible to do what you are suggesting. You may want to try and program a second “Exit” button or maybe even a macro. There are some buttons on the remote that are “locked”, so you would still have the original.
If that can’t be done, then you may just have to deal with the volume bar until it goes away. 🙂
is it possibe to program a silver comcast remote to a control the comcast dta box?
i forgot to mention that i can change the volume and turn my tv on and off but i cant change the channel.
Hey David,
As far as I know, the standard silver remote cannot be programmed to the DTA box, but I have heard that the newer “platinum” remotes can. You might be able to trade your silver one in.
i just got the platinum one. how do i program it
hey i have a platinum remote and i was wondering if i can use it to watch ondemand on the black DTA box. if i can, how do i program it?
Sorry David. Unfortunately you can not watch On Demand through the DTA box. The box is simply a digital to analog converter. It does not have any advanced features.
Have just purchased a new Toshiba DCT2224/1661.ACDEGJ (really?). My silver remote worked perfectly for the former TV, and still controls the cable box – but when I try to program it for the new TV by pressing the TV button and setup button until the TV button blinks twice – it never blinks twice! What can I do?
Got my fingers on the wrong keys when putting in the model number for the TV. :-/ It’s DCT2224/1661/ACDEGK according to the sticker on the back.
Hi Sherrie,
That’s odd that the TV button never blinks twice. Without being able to put the remote in “program” mode, you won’t be able to setup your new TV. I’ll look into your model number.
I have the silver remote from comcast with the red select button. My TV is an Olevia, Model 232-S12. I tried the 3 codes suggested. The middle one, 11230, will turn the tv off only to a grey screen but not completely off. From there it will turn it back on but it is never a black, completely off screen. Also it does not allow me to control the volume. I also was not clear if you use only the “power” button that is in the 5 selections at top of remote, which I did, or use the AUX button. I do have a DVD box also and did not know if that had to be programed separtely to work with the TV.
I mean to say the ALL ON buton and not the AUS button for Power
I gave you a previous email address in the 2 previous comments. Your comment screen is so light I can hardly read what I am submitting. Thought you might be able to fix.
Hi Dot,
a) Have you tried the auto-programming method? Usually it’s better to try that first and let the remote find the appropriate code.
b) To answer your first question. Yes, you will want to use the “Power” button that is among the five selections. You should never attempt to program the “All On” button.
c) If you have a DVD box, it would be best to put that on the “AUX” button.
If you have any more questions, please leave another comment or use the contact page. I’d be glad to help!
Oh, and thanks for the heads up about the comment screen. I’m actually doing a redesign of the site, which should be up pretty soon!
What is the Comcast DVR remote code for an LG LHT734DVD/CD home theatre/surround sound system
I can get it to turn off and on – but the volume button does not work
I am having the same issue with LG surround sound – power works but volume does not…did you get a solution?
Hi Christy,
If you’ll send the make and model of your device, I’ll see if I can find a code for you.
LG LHT854 DVD Receiver/Surround Sound unit
Hi Christy,
Try 20741.
After reading all the above I’m more than certain I’ve arrived at the correct site.
I have a Philips DVD model DVP3140/37, which I’m trying to program into my silver Comcast remote. With the DVD on and hitting aux then setup, getting the double blink then entering the code (I’ve tried many including the ones above) all codes give me that double blink but then nothing at all occurs when hitting the power button. The original remote is long gone so I am really hoping you could help. Thank you in advance for your time.
Hi Cat,
Here is another code for you to try just in case. 20490
Double check and make sure you are following all the steps.
Let me know if you are still having trouble and I’ll do what I can to help!!
Hey I have tried all the codes for my Sylvania TV model number LC320SL1 and my Sony DVD player model number DVP-SR200P and also the self code finding mode and I cant seem to get it to work… PLEASE HELP! I lost the remote to my dvd player in my move LOL Also I should add that I do not use a comcast box, just run it straight to my tv from the wall, I dont use the features of the box so I dont use it, is that why I cant get the remote to program? Please let me know what to do.
ok scratch my post I got it to turn on the tv & control the volume, but when I go to change the channel it dosnt work, the cable light flashes and it tries that… how do I fix that?
Can a Vizio soundbar, VHT 210-B, be controlled by the platinum Comcast remote?
When I try to get the remote to setup mode the tv button blinks many more that two times. I think it blinks about 5 times. I try to enter the numbers anyways and then press the channel + button and the cable buttons blinks. Is there any other way to enter the setup mode?
I found your tutorial extremely helpful. We gave a TV to my daughter without
a remote. I was able to follow your instructions very easily. Thanks.
You made an old woman feel real good about herself!
Lol! You’re very welcome Katie. Glad you were able to it programmed!
My comcast remote turns my Olevia TV on, off and can change channels. However, I can not adjust the volume – I have to use the remote from the TV – very frustrating. HELP!!
I’ve tried to program my tv using the silver remote. when I did, the only thing that works are the channels. The volume nor the power buttons work for me.
Hi Sam,
Have you tried both methods? Auto-program and manually?
If you’re still having trouble, send me your tv brand and model number and I’ll see if I can help you find a code.
I have a silver comcast remote and the instructions you posted dont match the manual. im having trouble locking in the code. instead of blinking twice when i press the setup button to lock the code. it just makes one long flash. like its caneling and i dont have the code. also you are saying press channel up and also 992 for dvd players but when i do any of those options it also cancels the search. I would very much appreciate any help you can give. i have a TruTech STS9300 dvd player i got from a goodwill with all the speakers and would like to be able to use my remote for volume. I cannot find codes anywhere. if you have some please share.
Thanks alot.
Chris.
Hi Chris,
There are actually three different silver comcast remotes. One with a red “OK” button, one with a grey “OK” button and a darker grey/silver remote. The one the tutorial is for, is the silver remote with the red “OK” button, which is pictured in the tutorial. If your instruction manual is not matching up, then I’m assuming you have a different remote. And I would suggest following the instruction that came with that particular remote.
As for codes, try these: 10451, 11661, 10092, 10672, 10019, or 10623
If those doesn’t work, try codes listed for Daewoo. I think that is that actual manufacturer of that particular brand. Also, if you do have the remote with the red “OK” button, double check your steps!!
Hope you get it working! Let me know how it goes and if I can help again.
My exit button won’t work and my remote can’t turn on or off my tv please help
Hi Jay, I read through the comments above to see if anyone has experienced same difficulty with me but didn’t find any. I programed comcast red ok button remote to control my RCA audio player using the aux button but I have to press the aux button each time i make a command. Example I have to press the aux to increase volume by one unit, then press the aux again to increase volume by another unit and so on. Is this normal or do I have to do something else?
Thank you
I think this is normal. The remote “assumes” that the volume control applies to the TV and defaults back to that each time you try to use it.
My silver remote with the red OK button works mostly on my TV, but holding down the volume key does not control the volume continuously like the TV’s own remote does, even though the red TV light flashes continuously. Might trying a different code for the TV brand work? Or is there a problem with the remote?
I finally (two months later!) got around to trying the second code listed by Comcast. That seems to have fixed the problem. All the other functions worked with the first code, but for some reason the continuous volume control did not. Everything seems to work fine with the second code.
I programmed the 30 second fast-forward (had some difficulty, but finally figured it out) and after that when we hit “all on” it turns the cable box on, TV on, then cable box off. Same goes for powering off. Any ideas how to fix?
Thanks in advance!
Hey Lisa, that is actually normal behavior. The “all on” button does exactly that. It will cycle through all your devices and turn them on/off one by one. It’s a convenience function that keeps the user from having to turn all devices on separately. I’m not sure if there is a way to disable it. If it is an issue, I would just press TV and then power, Cable and then power and so forth.
It looks to me that perhaps you have somehow programmed the AUX button to control the cable box. The All On button sends a signal first to the cable box, then to the TV, then to the AUX device. Each signal is a “toggle”, i.e., if the device is off it turns it on and vice versa. So if I am correct, the signal to the cable box turns it on, but the AUX signal turns it back off. Try programming the AUX button to some other device.
Hey Lisa,
I was going through emails and comments pretty quickly this morning. After rereading your comment, Ed K is exactly right. You somehow inadvertently programmed your AUX button to the cable box. I would definitely reprogram the AUX button to another device. If you don’t have a third device just program it to anything, just to disassociate it with the cable box.
Thanks to Ed K for catching that!
You’re right! The cable box was being turned on/off by both the cable and AUX buttons. I reprogrammed the AUX (to a phantom DVD player) and now the problem is solved. Thanks so much!!!
I am trying to use a 3 device Comcast remote with gray on/select button to control a Samsung BD-C6500 Blu Ray player. I tried all the 4 digit codes without any success, and have seen reference to advanced programming for virtually any device. I just can’t find complete instructions for how to do it. Can you help?
Hey Mark,
Try these:
0060
0490
0573
Let me know any of those work for you. Have you tried auto-programming?
I tried all the codes, and the auto (pushed CH+ about 1500 times). Here is a link referencing the advanced programming I was asking about. It has the codes for a 1500, but I don’t know where to find the ones for the C6500. http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11572&highlight=bdp1500
I have a Samsung tv model # LN-84041D or LN84041DX/XAA and the remote won’t work. Can you help me set this up?
Hey Jerry,
Try 10812
Hey Mark,
Try 0522. You can also try auto-programming it.
My husband was stationed in South Korea and we brought home a TV with us that works great. However, I haven’t been able to get the remote programmed for this tv. I tried the automatic setup and have had no luck. I can’t find any codes for the brand name “K-Display”. You seem to be working magic for everyone else here and I was hoping you could help me out please.
Hey Kristina,
Wow, that’s a brand I’ve never heard of and more than likely it may not be able to be programmed.
Usually electronics from different regions do not play nice together at all.
What’s the model number of the TV? And any other information would be helpful. Whatever is printed on the TV.
I have the silver comcast remote with red button. I have programmed the remote with my Sony Bravia KDL-40S3000. The comcast remote is able to change channels and control volume, BUT I am not able to turn the TV on and off with the comcast remote. I have to use the Sony remote for turning the TV on and off. The picture will turn off and go to a black screen with words HDMI 1 and cable box in upper portion of screen. Why is the comcast remote not controlling the on and off functions.
Hi Vicki,
Try the following:
1. Hit the “TV” button and press “Power”.
2. Press the “All On” button and leave the remote pointed at the TV and Cable box. You should see it cycle through TV, Cable, AUX. This sends the power on/off signal to each device.
If you have successfully programmed your remote to your TV, then one of these methods should turn it off. If it doesn’t then you may need to re-program the remote.
i am trying 2 prrogram the comcast remote with the red ok button 2 work with my digital converter box can u get me the code cause i lost it when i moved thanx
Hi Elisha,
When say “digital converter box” are you referring to the one that comes with the black remote? If so, as far as I know, the silver remote will not program to it.
Hi. Thanks for the great info. And kudos to you for still answering peoples questions. My question is can I program the cable button to control something other than a Comcast box? I’ve found if I use code 990 I can get the button to blink twice but any button I hit after that cancels the programming mode. Any ideas?
Hey Don,
I don’t know if that was a typo or not, but the code to use is 9-9-1. The code 9-9-0 is usually for checking what remote code is currently programmed.
Hi Don,
I’m not sure if that’s something that can be done. Honestly, I’ve never even thought about doing that, but you got me wondering now. I’ll look into it. If you find a way, please leave a comment!
I have 2 comcast silver remotes that we use for the same LG TV connected to a standard cable box. the volume graphic that shows up on the TV is different for each remote and in different locations on the screen. How can I make them both the same? Thanks in advance for any help.
Larry
Hey Larry,
Sounds like one remote is controlling the TVs volume and the other possibly a soundbar or external audio device??
I would think that if both remotes were controlling the TVs volume they would be in the same place, because the remote
doesn’t have any control over that at all.
we are trying to set up our new tv … the code has a T in it…. where do you find the T button on the silver comcast remote?
Hi Linda,
I’m a little confused. There should not be a “T” in the code. They are either 4 digit or 5 digit numbers depending on what remote you have.
Where are you seeing a “T”?
1 Turn on the TV you are programming.
2 Press and release the “TV” button on your Universal remote.
3 Press and hold the “Setup” button on your remote until the button blinks twice.
4 Type in the 5-digit code using the number buttons.
Most likely code T1756
Others to try T0054
this is what i get when i looked for COMCAST REMOTE w silver button… and a VIZIO tv…. ??????? I am pretty confused…
Hi Linda,
Where are you getting these instructions from? Have you tried using the methods found on this page?
You mention that you are using the Comcast remote with the grey OK button. Is that correct?
If so, then try ignoring the “T” and just use the numbers, as that particular remote only uses 4-digit codes.
Hope this helps!
I have the silver Comcast remote with red button. Am trying to program two Blu-ray units (for different Cisco receivers). The Sony is a BD-S360, and none of the listed sony codes work. The other is a Samsung BD-E5400. For this, the first code for Samsung DVD players works…except for the “enter” key and pause.
Any codes that might work?
Hey Dave,
Try 20199.
Let me know if that one works or not.
I also have a k-display any word on working remotes for it would be great
Hi everyone, I have a question I searched through complaints hoping someone had the same but I did not see one. my remote is programed for my t.v the batteries came out one day and now I cant use my input button to change over to av to us my dvd player but the volume and off/on button still works and turns. when I press the input button now the cable button light up instead of my tv button. by the way I do not have cable im just using this Comcast remote for this t.v. but one day the input stopped working do I have to reprogram it… thank you so much
Hi Tabitha,
Try pushing the TV button first, and then the Input button. That is usually a function of the TV itself.
I have a new Xfinity remote that I programmed and it will turn the TV and Cable Box on and off but it will not change channels. How can I fix this?
Hi Elnora,
Is it a Motorola box that you are having trouble with? Did you start having this issue out of the blue?
If so, try rebooting it by unplugging it for a few minutes and then plugging it back in.
Let me know if that works or not.
Our t.v. does not have a picture right now, but when we turn the power off, the picture flashed on for an instant. Could be the t.v., but wondered if we pushed something on the remote that has changed out settings. This happened after watching normal t.v. last night and no picture tonight.
I am looking at the silver remote and wondered what the Lock (A) and B and C buttons control? Thanks for any advice.
Hi Beverly,
That sounds like a TV issue. There is nothing on the remote that could cause your picture to go out. With the exception of actually changing the TV channel from 3/4 to something else, or if you switched inputs by accident. For example, an unused HDMI port.
The A,B, and C buttons typically don’t do anything by default. They are usually programmed by the user. Most people use them for the 30 second skip.
I hope that helps some!!
Hi,
I can get my comcast remote to turn tv on/off, volume, but will not change the channels. I have tried to set programming and reset from all of the tutorials, but to no avail on channel changing? Any advice out there?hi jay
The new silver remote that I just got has the mute that goes to soft mute, then to complete mute. How can I eliminate the soft mute function?
I programmed our RCA tv and Sony dvd into remote. Now I want to remove the DVD code. When I turn off the tv/cable box the dvd turns on. When I turn the tv/cable box on the dvd turns off. We rarely use the dvd so I would just like it to remain off. How do I fix this problem. Thanks.
Hi Tina,
The easiest way to do this would be to go through the programming method again, only this time just use a bogus code instead of the proper one for you DVD player.
Then when you hit All On, and it runs through the power on codes for all the devices, it will send the wrong code for your DVD player and it should remain off.
My comcast remote is working fine with the tv it is just not letting me hit ok when selecting a source or input. It allows me to highlight it on the tv but it will not allow me to go into it. And I knw the ok button works because I use it when selecting a channel and so on.
Hmmm. I’m not sure about that one. It doesn’t sound like a programming issue, sounds like a wonky remote! You may be better off trading it in for a new one.
I have the Comcast silver remote with red button. I have programmed my VCR/DVD player through the AUX button. It will play the FBI warning, stop, ff and rewind, but I am unable to select Play or, for exercise DVD’s, to select between beginner or advanced. Any suggestions on how I can use the remote to select options on the DVD screen? Thank you.
Hi Debbie,
Sometimes combination units can be a little quirky. It’s almost as if there are two sets of codes for the units but unfortunately you can only program one set. It kinda sounds like that’s what is going on here. You have half functionality. I’m really not sure what to suggest.
I am trying to unpair my Comcast remote from my tv because since receiving a new remote and pairing it with my tv I can no longer get the volume to turn up past 63 when before it went to 100. before getting new remote I used old Comcast remote for cable box and tv remote for tv, volume would go much louder as it is now I can barely hear some things I’m watching. already did live chat he told me steps to take but they didn’t work. he even had me remove battery from remote, press power button 5 times, then replace battery that didn’t work then he had me unhook cable from tv that still didn’t work. should I just go swap remotes?
I programmed my Seiki tv with the 5 digit remote code of 10178 (model # SE24FY27-D),,,,when I go to turn off the tv/cable using the “All On” button only the cable box turns off not the TV….irritating!
I have the exact same problem. Let me know if you found out a solution.
How do I program it to operate a different cable box; Specifically the Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HD?

Hello.
Just received a new remote control from Comcast .& am using Xfinity. Was able to connect & get it working ok. received a phone call,& thought that I had touched the mute button which the sound did stop. After the call, I looked at the Black screen , it stated the following; ( I got the shakes, that w ds to you). Have no idea where those words came from. I shut it down,& went through the process of reconnecting, worked but still have the same message no sound, or picture. Would appreciate any help to correct. Thanks John

When watching a tv show (live or one that has been previously dvr-ed) the PLAY button on my Comcast Universal Remote will cause a PAUSE if the program is in progress. Is there a code I can use for the PLAY button so that the show will (continue to) “play” whether or not the show is in progress?
Thanks,

How do I program a small black remote?
Having problem with remote codes for Insignia TV any help will helpful
All-on button problem:
I have a Polaroid TV 46GSR3000. I programmed the Comcast silver remote (red button), manually, with a code. Everything works correctly (volume, channel-up/down,etc.). Also, with the TV selected the power button turns the TV on or off. The All-on button correctly turns both the TV and Comcast box off.
However, the All-on button does not turn the TV back on (it does turn the Comcast box on). This happened first with my old Comcast remote, so I got a new remote from Comcast. The same thing still happens.
Any suggestions?
I have a Comcast silver remote with the red button it works everything except I program my Philips DVD and I can only turn it on and off what code would I use for my Philips DVD so I could put play reverse and fast forward and record thank you
Hey I have a Comcast silver button remote and can’t unlock the input button for tv, it works in cable and aux mode but not tv tried so many different codes thanks
Hi. I just bought a Vizio 3.1 sound bar for use with my Samsung TV. Model of soundbar is” SB3830-C6M. My silver comcast remote controls my tv volume and channels, but I would love to program this sound bar so that I can use the comcast remote to raise and lower the volume on the SB, since I had to cancel the TV speakers and am using the external mode for sound. I’m pretty bad at tech stuff, but if you know this can be done, I would sure appreciate the help! Thanks..Dave

Hi,
I can get my comcast remote to turn tv on/off, volume, but will not change the channels. I have tried to set programming and reset from all of the tutorials, but to no avail on channel changing? Any advice out there?
Sylvania lc320sl1. I have tried many codes to no avail.
Using a signal splitter, I have connected to a DCX3501 set top box, and a little DTA converter box, in order to VCR record one channel while watching another.
I have a large grey remote for the DCX3501, and a small black remote for the DTA converter.
I have programed both remotes with the same television code.
Problem: The remotes are not working independently. Changing the channel for the DTA converter with the DTA remote, also changes the channel on the set top box, and conversly, changing the channel for the set top box with the set top remote, also changes the channel on the DTA converter box. Pressing the “power off” button on the DTA remote turns off the television, as expected, but it also turns off the set top box.
How can I get the remotes to work independently?
The DCX3501 replaced a no-longer-functioning DCT2000. When the DCT2000 was in use, both remotes worked independently.
I’d like to know how to deiete unused channels I can’t get
