Install Oracle Java 7 on Mac OS X
Nowadays, just about everything on the web uses Java. At some point or another you will probably need to install Java on Mac OS X to be able to enjoy the Internet, websites and Apps to their fullest. It’s not a hard process, and this article will show you how to install Java 7, which at the time of this tutorial is the latest version available. The installation process should remain the same even when Java gets updated.
Requirements for Oracle Java 7 on Mac OS X
Download Java from Oracle here
When it’s finished, go to your Download location and double click the .dmg file.
When you see the following screen, double click the .pkg file to start the installation.
Click “Continue”.
Click “Install”
It should finish successfully fairly fast.
After it’s installed go to “System Preferences” and you should the Java icon in the section labeled “Other”.
Intel-based Mac running Mac OS X version 10.7.3 (Lion) or above
Administrator privileges
A 64-bit browser (Firefox, Safari, etc)
What If I’m Running Snow Leopard??
